The old tennis courts were converted. It took 42 days and $250,000 to revamp the old courts and make these brand new, pristine courts. New to Pickleball? Here are some rules to keep in mind: 

1. Serving: The serving team must serve the ball diagonally to the opponent's service court. The serve must clear the non-volley zone, also known as the kitchen, and land in the opposite diagonal service court.

2. Double Bounce Rule: After the serve, both teams must let the ball bounce once on each side before they can hit it in the air. This rule ensures that each team has an opportunity to return the serve and promotes longer rallies.

3. Non-Volley Zone: Players are not allowed to hit the ball in the air while standing inside the non-volley zone, which is a 7-foot area on either side of the net. This rule prevents players from executing smashes or volleys too close to the net.

4. Scoring: Pickleball games are typically played to 11 points, and a team must win by at least 2 points. Only the serving team can score points, and points are earned on both the serving and receiving side.

5. Faults: Common faults in pickleball include hitting the ball out of bounds, stepping into the non-volley zone to hit a volley, and serving out of turn. Understanding and following these rules will ensure fair play and a smooth pickleball experience for all players.
