Would you believe that there are thousands of registered non-profit organizations on Hilton Head Island? The community is full of individuals and groups that want to do good.  From saving the earth to addressing hunger, to unique charities like children’s birthday parties, the ways in which you can give back are plentiful. Many of these charities host annual fundraisers that are open to the public.  That’s right. Residents and visitors alike can enjoy these fundraisers!  These fun-filled events are great ways to learn about the organizations and the causes they serve, as well as make an impact yourself. We’re here today to tell you about the Charitable Events in 2024 that you won’t want to miss.  

Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival 

Celebrate the south, it’s heritage, culture and food with this iconic annual festival with all proceeds going to The David M. Carmines Foundation. The foundation has raised over $1.2 million to donate to non-profits such as The Outside Foundation. The week-long festival has  numerous events ranging from a casual oyster roast to a 5-star dinner, to a tequila tasting. The main event is a family-friendly festival at Shelter Cove Harbour with live music, vendors, and of course, plenty of seafood! Annual Gala for The Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head 

March 9, 2024 

At the Island’s only 5-diamond resort, The Westin, guests attend a gala-style event to raise money for The Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head. This March event’s theme is “Passport” and has an around-the-world theme. This gala never disappoints with incredible auction items, delicious food, and full open bar. Pre-boarding Cocktail Reception starts at 6:00 p.m. Direct Flights to Iconic World Cuisine & Entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m. and the destination, "It's A Surprise!", will be after dinner.

Sea Turtle Patrol Nest Dedication Fundraiser 

Returns April 2024

We are huge supporters of local organization, Sea Turtle Patrol, that is SC permitted with a DNR license to help with sea turtle conservancy.  Teams of 2-3 Patrol members ride the miles of Hilton Head Beaches from May to October to keep predators out, the beaches clear, inventory nests, ensure homeowner lights are out, and even rescue stranded hatchlings.  At Beachside Getaway, we are captivated by these creatures who once they have reached reproductive maturity, return every 3 years to the same spot.  Only 1 in 100 hatchlings will become full grown adults! 

To give back and help with sea turtle conservancy, you can purchase and dedicate a nest. This is a great way to educate little ones about sea turtles!  Dedicate a nest starting in April 2024 by visiting www.seaturtlepatrolhhi.org

Yacht Hop is for Hospice Care of the Lowcountry

May 12, 2024 

Yacht Hop guests are invited to tour lavish yachts in the exclusive community of Wexford. Guests are served mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres and masterfully-crafted cocktails, prepared by some of the Lowcountry acclaimed chefs. You can mingle a multi-level venue overlooking the beautiful Inland Habour, take photos at Yacht Hop Photo Booth, and also bid on items during the exciting live auction. The event is now in it’s 18thyear and perfect for anyone who loves boats!
